Michael Bernard PhD
Professor and Psychologist Michael E. Bernard, Melbourne Graduate School of Education, University of Melbourne, is an international consultant to business, educational authorities, and governments. He has developed the award-winning “The High Performance Mindset at Work” e-learning program for business, the public service and not-for-profit organisations www.workmindset.com based on principles of positive psychology and mindset development. He is the author/editor of over 50 books (e.g., “Rationality and the Pursuit of Happiness,” “Bullying: The Power to Cope”, “The Strength of Self-Acceptance”), 15 book chapters, and 30 journal articles. He is the Founder of You Can Do It! Education www.youcandoiteducation.com, a program for promoting student social-emotional well-being and achievement that is being used in over 6,000 schools in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, England, Romania and North America. He is also involved in the development of e-learning resources for parents www.youcandoitparents.com. Michael was the first sport psychologist of the Collingwood Football Club.
High Performance Mindsets Drive High Performing Organisations
Companies are on the search for strategies that can help take their people and organisation to high levels of work performance (productivity-profitability, engagement, innovation, and quality of life. The issue for organisational development and HR strategy is what is the best (ROI) investment to move towards and become a high performing workplace.  Organisations invest in their people in various ways. An important part of investment is in developing job-related knowledge, technical and practical and skills (what they know). Many companies today are also investing in supporting people to work together -networking, collaborating and cooperating (who they know).
