Saul Carliner PhD
Saul Carliner is an associate professor and e-learning Fellow at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.  His research and teaching focus on the design of learning and communication materials for the workplace, the management of people who produce these materials, and the transfer of research
to practice.  Also an industry consultant, his provides strategic planning and analysis to clients and has worked in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America.  He is the author of nearly 200 articles and 8 books, including the award-winning e-Learning Handbook (with Patti Shank),
best-selling Training Design Basics, and recent Informal Learning Basics.  He is a past board
member of the Canadian Society for Training and Development, a past research fellow of ASTD,
and a fellow and past international president of the Society for Technical Communication. 
He is a Certified Training and Development Practitioner.
