Swinburne University of Technology’s Centre for the New Workforce set out to answer this question by surveying working Australians across the economy to understand how they expect to succeed in the future of work. Sean proposes a new approach called learning-integrated work, where learning increasingly is taken off-campus and immersed in disruptive work environments.

As part of a new onboarding Learning Journey for retail teams, Specsavers have developed an Augmented Reality experience. The application for mobile devices is a spatial map of the customer journey for team members to explore, with a selection of mini-games designed to improve speed to competency.

– By experimenting with new immersive technology we can provide our teams with learning at the right time and place to improve their knowledge and skills
– The project also showed that immersive technologies can be as cost-effective as more traditional types of e-learning, yet deliver better results in involving the learner, gamifying the experience and promoting exploration and discovery of content.
